Old English letter numbers, 0 to 9

Numbers in Old English letters are drawn like the letters: a plain digit first, then a rounded outline, a highlight and colour. Use them for birthday ages, door numbers, scoreboards and classroom calendars.

0: zero
1: one
2: two
3: three
4: four
5: five
6: six
7: seven
8: eight
9: nine

Tips for drawing numbers

The digits 0, 6, 8 and 9 have closed holes, so draw the inner outline early and keep the hole open. The digits 1, 4 and 7 are made of straight lines; round their corners and keep the outline the same width as on the letters. For a birthday sign, draw the age larger than the words around it.

To make a bigger number such as 30 or 2026, type it into the generator, which spaces the digits for you and exports a transparent PNG.

Questions

How do you draw Old English letters numbers?

Sketch the plain digit first, then outline it a finger-width outside, round the corners and colour it. Numbers with holes (0, 4, 6, 8, 9) need an inner outline too.

Can I use these numbers on a birthday sign?

Yes. Print this page or use the generator to type a whole number such as 30 or 2026 and download a transparent PNG.
